Accounts Payable Coordinator

The Accounts Payable Coordinator at S. Watts Group provides accounting support for all facets of project and subcontractor financial management. This position assists with the accurate and timely review of accounts payable, employee expense reports and credit card reconciliation. Qualifications

Construction Accounts Payable experience preferred but not required.

Highly self-motivated and independently productive team player. Able to multi-task, maintain organization, set priorities and meet deadlines. Ability to work in high production environment and respond quickly and effectively under pressure.

Proficiency with computers, 10-key and Excel.

Must have professional written and verbal communication skills.

Minimum Requirements

Construction Accounts Payable experience preferred but not required. 2 years of experience in Accounting. Proficiency in basic accounting principles. Proficiency using a personal computer and company communication tools, such as email, the internet, and Microsoft products (e.g., Word, Excel, Office, Outlook)

Construction Internship

The Construction Internship at S. Watts Group provides relevant field experience for junior or senior level construction management/science students. Our internship program provides a realistic view of what it’s like to work in a general contractor environment through meaningful, hands-on experiences. Our interns assume a wide variety of responsibilities during their time with S. Watts Group.

Duties & Responsibilities

Support the project management team with subcontractor and supplier coordination, material tracking, file management, document control (submittals, RFIs and change orders) and progress reporting.

Work with field supervision to assist with project layout, construction drawing and trade coordination, verification of field conditions and quality control.

Skills & Experience

Education and Experience:

Students must be enrolled in a college or university pursuing a Bachelors of Science in Construction Management/Science.
Proficient PC skills including a proficiency in various software used such as Excel, Plan Grid, and Sage.
Familiarity or an internship with construction industry practices preferred.
Must be able to understand and communicate effectively with job site supervisors and fellow employees.

The work environment characteristics described below are representative of those that a Construction Intern encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

Work can be performed in both indoor and outdoors in all weather conditions.
Employee regularly works near heavy equipment and moving machinery.
